  • Killed Palestinian woman laid to rest in Gaza

    GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Palestinian crowds marched, Saturday noon, in the funeral of Amal Mustafa Taramsi , 43, who was shot and killed by Israeli forces during protests at the eastern borders of the besieged Gaza Strip, on Friday afternoon.

    Hundreds of Palestinians, alongside head of the Hamas movement’s politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, and several other movement leaders took part in the funeral.

    The funeral procession set off from the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City towards her home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood before burial at the neighborhood’s cemetery.

    More than 25 Palestinians were injured during Friday protests with live bullets, rubber-coated steel bullets while dozens of others suffered tear-gas inhalation.

    Two journalists and a paramedic were among injuries, while a Palestinian ambulance was also targeted by Israeli forces.

    The Palestinian Health Ministry said the slain Palestinian woman has been identified as Amal Mustafa at-Taramisi , 43, from Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza city.

    It added that the woman was shot in her head, and died from her serious wounds shortly after she was injured.

    Ahmed Ibrahim Zaki al-Taweel (23), from Deir al-Balah, was hit with a live bulllet to the chest ineastern al-Buraij refugee camp.

    Mohammed Abdul Hafith Yusuf Isam’il (29), from Deir al-Balah, was hit with a live bullet to the chest in eastern al-Buraij refugee camp.
    Ahmed Ahmed Abullah Abu Na’im (17), from al-Nuseirat refugee camp, was hit with a live bullet to the chest and incised wound to the left arm in eastern al-Buraij refugee camp.
    Abdullah Barham Suleiman al-Daghmah (25), from ‘Abasan al-Jadidah in Khan Younis, was hit with a live bullet that peneterated the right side of the abdomen and exited the left side in eastern al-Buraji refugeec amp.
    Tamer Iyad Mahmoud Abu ‘Armanah (21) from Rafah, was hit with a live bullet to the head in eastern Rafah.
    ‘Afifi Mahmoud ‘Ata al-‘Afifi (18), from Gaza City, was hit with a live bullet to the abdomen in eastern al-Sheja’eiyah neighborhood.
    Mohammed ‘Essam Mohammed ‘Abbas (20), from Sheikh Redwan neighborhood was hit with a live bullet to the head and succumbed to his wounds he sustained in the evening in eastern al-Sheja’eiyah neighborhood.

    Moreover, 224 civilians, including 42 children, 3 women, 3 journalists and a paramedic, were hit with live bullets and direct tear gas canisters. Sixteen of theose wounded sustained serious wounds in addition dozens suffering tear gas inhalation and seizures after tear gas canisters were heavily fired by the Israeli soldiers from the military jeeps and riffles in the eastern Gaza Strip.

      It is worth mentioning that Abdullah has two bothers who were killed by the Israeli army; Suleiman was killed in 2005, while Bassam was killed in 2011. (...)

    The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that Israeli soldiers fired, on Saturday at dawn, several missiles into an area, south of Gaza city, killing two Palestinians, and causing serious damage to many buildings.

    Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said medics and rescue teams rushed into the bombarded area, and located the remains of two Palestinians, buried under the rubble.

    He added that the two Palestinians have been identified as Mahmoud Mohammad at-‘Atal , 29, from Sheikh Radwan area, and Mohammad Jabr as-Safadi ,25, from ad-Daraj neighborhood, in Gaza city.

    The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said the two are members of the group, adding that the bombarded site “Bader” was run by it.

    The army also fired many missiles into three other Qassam sites, south of Gaza city, in addition to Khan Younis, and east of Jabalia, in northern Gaza.

    On Saturday morning, Israeli soldiers, stationed across the border fence, shot and injured at least one Palestinian, and caused many others to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

    Media sources said the army attacked dozens of protesters, who marched in Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, moderately wounding one teenager, and caused many others, mainly school students, to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation. (...)

      Ce samedi matin, juste avant l’aube, deux combattants palestiniens de l’aile militaire du Hamas, les Brigades Izz al-Din al-Qassam, ont été tués lors de frappes israéliennes visant un site des forces Al-Qassam [aile armée de la résistance islamique].

      Le porte-parole du ministère de la Santé a déclaré que les équipes d’ambulanciers ont pu trouver les corps sur le site de Badr al-Qassam dans la ville de Gaza, au nord de la bande de Gaza.

      Les habitants ont identifié les deux comme étant Mahmoud al-Attal , âgé de 28 ans, du quartier Sheikh Radwan et Muhammad al-Safadi , âgé de 30 ans, du quartier al-Daraj dans la ville de Gaza.

    A cautious calm prevailed early Thursday in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh after an exchange of fire overnight between armed rivals that left two dead, the state-run National News Agency reported.

    Clashes between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement and the Jund al-Sham Islamist group intensified overnight in the al-Fawqani street.

    Palestinian security members near the al-Barraq center came under fire by what a Fatah official described as “unidentified gunmen”. A Fatah official, Radwan Abdul Rahim, was seriously injured and later succumbed to his wounds.

    Another man, Fadi Khalil, an activist who was on efforts to reach a cease fire agreement between the clashing parting was also killed at dawn.

    A ceasefire in the camp which lies near the southern port city of Sidon was reached early Wednesday but was marred later on by the night sporadic battles.
